Exhibition Statement
“The enchanting beauty of flowers has been a source of inspiration for artists throughout history. From the intricately detailed floral still lifes of the Dutch Golden Age to the abstract and contemporary representations in today’s art world, flowers have always held space in the imagination of artists.
In ‘FLORAL NOUVEAU’ we show that flowers continue to inspire and captivate, offering themselves as muse and symbol, through which artists continue to explore diverse themes and create works that resonate with viewers on multiple levels. The ever-expanding flexibility of modern mediums allows for innovative and experimental explorations of floral themes in a variety of contexts. We are excited to present current works in various media, traditional and avant-garde, which display the ongoing fascination with flowers in art and showcase the diverse interpretations of flowers being created by today’s artists.”
