ABOUT THE EXHIBIT

Colleen Hoffenbacker’s inclusion in the inaugural Women Rising exhibition reflects a curatorial focus on ecological symbolism, layered visual language, and expanded modes of seeing. Her work contributed to a collective dialogue among Pacific Northwest artists exploring diverse perspectives across media, form, and concept. The exhibit, in collaboration with Allied Arts of Whatcom County, will be displayed at the Dakota Art Gallery in Bellingham.

Exhibition Statement

Showcasing the work of women artists from the Pacific Northwest. ‘Women Rising’ reflects the contrasts that define our time: the majesty of nature, climate change and extinction; portraits of inner strength; abstractions that capture life’s energy and the unfolding of time.
